Green Police

I'm watching the Superbowl and just saw the "Green Police" commercial from Audi. Is that some sick attempt at humor? With the police state as ragingly oppressive as it is, the ad wizards at Audi thought it would be a great idea to show a heavy handed police force tormenting the public for such innocuous "crimes" as choosing plastic bags over paper and using incandescent light bulbs? I'm not much for organized boycotts and I probably can't afford an Audi anyway, but rest assured they will never get a dime of my money.

  1. This is great. Yes, I'm WAY behind on this blog but I'm back baby and I absolutely had to respond on this. Audi is a client of mine and we actually reviewed this Ad in a meeting a few weeks before the Superbowl and a I had the same thought. The general public gave some overwhelming feedback that this had hints of the Gestapo so they pulled the Ad less than a week after its initial run. Rest assured though, this was not the intent. It was meant to be light-hearted attempt at poking fun of the overly green folks in our society that look down on those of us that haven't quite turned everything we do in life into an attempt to save Mother Earth. And they weren't even advertising a car, rather the fact that they had won the Green Car of the Year award. That being said, they probably did fail to see the other view points that could be generated from it.
