Obama: "No Ground Troops in Libya"

I will reference this article when ground troops do, in fact, invade Libya. And mark my words, US troops WILL invade Libya. Obama is a war-mongering liar, just like the despot before him.

Mike Birbiglia - Deck Accomplished

Here is a hilarious clip by comedian Mike Birbiglia about the absurd Bush (now Obama) propaganda with regard to the war(s) and supporting the troops.

Prominent Liberals Criticize Obama's Afghanistan Strategy

In a previous posting, I stated the Democrats and the mainstream media do not speak out against Obama when he continues to expand the empire through war and implored the "legitimate pro-peace Democrats and media" to prove me wrong.

Over the past week, some prominent liberals have come out against the supposed "president of peace" and his continued warmongering in Afghanistan. I am pleasantly surprised and want to give credit to those members of the Left who are showing some principle.

Here is Jon Stewart's humorous critique:

Here is Rachel Maddow's critique on her MSNBC show: (hat tip to Phil)

Michael Moore also wrote an open letter on his website where he asks Obama if he really wants to be the next war president.

Obama = Peace?

I saw a bumper sticker this morning that had Obama's name and the "O" had a "peace" sign in the middle of it.

Now THAT is just downright comical.

Obama to Send 30,000 More Troops to Afghanistan

As Obama continues in the exact foot steps of the warmonger Bush, how is it that he gets a free pass from the mainstream media and the so-called peace activists?

Is the desire to eradicate thousands of brown people in a foreign land exclusively a Republican stance? Could it be that Obama and the rest of his Democrat buddies simply share the same insatiable desire to wield their power over others and continue to reward their connected coherts in the military industrial complex?

When will people realize that there is NO DIFFERENCE between Republicans and Democrats? Sure, they toss around the political footballs of abortion, capital punishment, health care, etc. But when it comes to spreading the empire, they are all cut from the same cloth.

Legitimate pro-peace Democrats and media, prove me wrong. I've lost all hope for the Republicans and neoconservatives.

2007 Obama: "I Will Get Our Troops Home..."

"I will promise you this, that if we have not gotten our troops out by the time I am president, it is the first thing I will do. I will get our troops home. We will bring an end to this war. You can take that to the bank."

Another campain (spelling intentional) promise broken by another appeasing politician. Obama is no different than any other bureaucrat and it is so unfortunate, yet predictable, that he picked up the warmongering where Bush left off. The Democrats are no more the "party of peace" than the Republicans are "small government conservatives".

Problem: US Military Required to be out of Iraqi cities by June 30

Solution: just redraw the city boundaries.

On a map of Baghdad, the US Army's Forward Operating Base Falcon is clearly within city limits.

Except that Iraqi and American military officials have decided it's not. As the June 30 deadline for US soldiers to be out of Iraqi cities approaches, there are no plans to relocate the roughly 3,000 American troops who help maintain security in south Baghdad along what were the fault lines in the sectarian war.

"We and the Iraqis decided it wasn't in the city," says a US military official.

"We consider the security agreement a living document," says a senior US commander.

This kind of creative manuevering and backdooring is expected from the Neoconservatives/Republicans/Dick Cheney, but not from the "party of peace". Say it isn't so, Barack!

Where is the outrage from the supposed peace lovers? Where is the frontpage story on the Huffington Post? Could it be that the peace movement only acts when in its best interest, which is when a Republican is in office? Nary a word when the Dems are in control. What a lousy bunch of posers.

America: Also The Global Financial Police

Barack Obama said Monday, "If financial institutions won't cooperate with us, we will assume that they are sheltering money in tax havens and act accordingly."

Many investors deposit their cash and enter into contract with foreign banking institutions because of privacy concerns. This does not make one a criminal but a wise and prudent protector of their assets with legitimate apprehension toward a tyrannical government [see: Gold Confiscation Act of 1933].

Sure, there those who use these financial institutions as tax havens. But with today's oppressive tax code, who can blame them?

The national coffers are depleted, the creditors are concerned about their investment, and the voluntary slaves are already overtaxed. But the empire must be financed and all measures must be utilized - including the presumption of guilt in the event of a financial institution refusing to "cooperate", instead opting to honor a pre-existing contract.

I only hope that these institutions have the chutzpah to stand up to the dictator and refuse to "cooperate".

Terrorists "Hate Our Freedom"

[thanks to Lewrockwell.com and The Washington Post]

In addition to the 17,000 troops sent to Afghanistan this year, President Obama just commissioned an additional 4,000. Has Afghanistan become Obama's Iraq?

Bush Got One Right

Savor that headline, Republicans, because that's where the accolades end.

President Obama on Monday signed an executive order removing restrictions on federal funding for stem-cell research that were previously put in place by President Bush. Another way to write that would be: President Obama on Monday continued his unwavering quest to commission billions of taxpayer dollars -- which we don't have -- to pay for [insert unconstitutional spending project here].

Bush accidentally got one right because he found a way to NOT spend federal funds, even though his reasoning had nothing to do with fiscal or constitutional responsibility.

Naturally, the religious right is up in arms because of the blurred morality line they claim this has crossed, but offer no criticism on the grounds of increased federal spending despite their feigned desire for limited government.

"The president has rolled back important protections for innocent life, further dividing our nation at a time when we need greater unity to tackle the challenges before us," charged Republican House Minority Leader John Boehner.

Where were the Republicans rallying in support of innocent life when George Bush ordered the execution of innocent lives in Iraq? Or should that just be chalked up to collateral damage?

Notwithstanding the issue of federal financing, couldn't supporters of stem cell research draw the same parallel that expended embryonic life is simply "collateral damage" and necessary in attaining the "greater good"?

Obamanomics: Print More Money!

Peter Schiff, president of Euro Pacific Capital and predictor of the US economic collapse, explains why we cannot print our way to prosperity. Note: this failed idea is not held exclusively by Obama; "free-marketer" Bush and McCain hold this same view.

US Military Occupying 150+ Countries

The US military now occupies more than 150 countries worldwide. Dick Cheney, Julius Caesar, and Dr. Evil are unimpressed.

For millenia man has striven for power and global domination from the Romans, British, Spanish, and Chinese, to name a few. All these world powers have embraced the position of their empire - why is America the only nation that denies its status as an empire?

The questions now become:
  • How will President Obama's foreign policy affect this number?
  • Will Obama follow in Bush's footsteps?
  • Will those who pushed for peace under the Bush Administration continue to push for peace under the Obama Administration or was it just more partisan positioning?

Obama To Bring Home Troops From Iraq...To Afghanistan

"Let me say this as plainly as I can: By August 31, 2010, our combat mission in Iraq will end," Obama said in a speech at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.

http://www.cnn.com/2009/POLITICS/02/27/obama.troops/index.html

Pardon me if I don't rush out to get my "mission accomplished" banner made. Prediction: this will turn into a classic example of how these skilled politicians turn a phrase to mean whatever they want it to mean. Sure, the "combat mission" may be officially terminated but in name only. Tell that to the family of the American soldier or Iraqi civilian who is killed AFTER this superficial deadline when a new moniker has been given to our continuing occupation.

Meanwhile, a "quiet" 17,000 MORE American troops have been deployed to Afghanistan and hardly a sound was made.

DEAR SO-CALLED LIBERALS,
When "The Chosen One" commissioned these troops to Afghanistan, where were the protests? Where is the outrage? Where are the principled demonstrations against the war mongering administration?
